blowhards and powerloss...
well, the storm came and went. did not hit the dc area as hard as they expected, but still many are without power and that is hard. I thankfully have power, but if I didn't have it, I think I woudl be going completely crazy. we have not had radio here at work for the past 3 days or so, and it drives me crazy not having the background noise. can't bear to think how it would be at home if I couldn't have some kind of sound. dax has been without power since thursday, and is not taking it too well. I really do wish I could make it better for him.

had a d&d game on saturday, it was ok, but we all seemed to be in a mood to talk more than play. but it was fun, and we got through a bit more of the adventure. as I commented in jimbo's blog when he was complaiing that it was no fun any more, that we were too powerful now, that it may be time to bring out some really big guns, and that may cause some quaking in the boots of the party. a nice big dragon, or even an evil goddess might put us all back in our place as it were. but then too, there is something to be said for new characters, and all that. well, he is the boss, so it really is up to him.
and on that note,

and now yoru weekend up-date with rob...
kilts, scratchy wool, and other fun things. that is what my weekend consisted of, at lwast durring the day on saturday. sunday was a sleep day. but, saturday we went to the ren faire, and had a blast. I wore a great kilt for the first time, and did not go regimental, didn't want to scare the small children. the wool did get a bit itchy on my legs later in teh day after the morning rains disapeared. we had fun with myra, and jon and brian (aka gurl) showed up to enjoy the day with us too. spent most fo the time in the white hart tavern. plenty of entertainment, and fun was had by all. we also went and toured the grounds, and met up with many of dax's friends. but, as it got late int eh day, and I needed to get some rest before work, my blonde roots showed themselves. dax ahd gotten me a wooden bunny protection shield, and I just left it on the table when we headed out. luckily, myra grabbed it when she left, and I will get it on saturday when we geek out to d&d. so, Yea. the shield is unpainted, so I get to have the fun of gettign out my acrilics and doing it up the way I wnat to di it up. yea!
in other news...got this letter from corporate saying basically, that they f#*ked up a year ago when they made my position, and are going to try to rectifiy it "soon". whatever taht means. well, hopefully it will mean more money for me, if I get this new position they are creating, and it will probably mean no mroe overnight shifts for me. I am going to try to mvoe to another property if this does happen. I jsut need to get otu of this place. the residents all belong in arkham. so, keep your fingers crossed yet again.

humans, they smell bad and can't drive either...
the roundears were really pissing me off tongiht, those that I dealt with as not many were out today. first I had a woman come up to the desk who's key did not work for her apartment. got the security guard to let her into the apartmetn with the master key, but then she wants to keep the master key. had to explain to her several times that I could not give her that key as the maintainence man would need it to cut her a new key. really could not comprehend that idea. and just now, the paper delivery guy for the convience store in the basement was resentful when I told him he had to take the papers that he threw at the main door of the building down to the store, we did not deliver them for him. he acutally got in a shouting match with me over what his job was. if you don't like it, don't do it, or find a new job, but then with no education, what kind of job can you get?
this has just been a bad weekend all around. I really hate having to work these 11-7 shifts, saturday was a route by pack "abc" was supposed to be their c side, but as usual they had to put in ringers to round out their team. gee, seems like we are the only team that has the problem of them putting in ringers, why are they so afraid to loose to us? hmm, curious. it was nice thoguh to see the guys again, and be out in the sun. we did get a bit burned, because I forgot the lotion at home. gotta get that into the car so this does not happen again. got a couple of days off, so gonna get some rest, clean up the apt., since I was sick last weekend, the place has not been cleaned recently. so it is a bit messy. and I am getting a pile of laundry again. hate that. anyway, enough of the rant. my boss is supposed to talk to the manager of the building I am trying to transfer into, so hopefully I will ahve good news soon.

I'm not crazy, it's just dementia from old age...
so, another day older, and actually not deeper in debt (yea!!!) the birthday was ok, but I was strangely sick friday and it kinda ruined my weekend. was laid out in bed (and not in a good way) all day friday, friday ngiht, and the better part of saturday. no idea why, jsut all of a sudden had a 101 fever when I woke up friday evening.
the rest of the weekend went well. fianlly got to see dax on tuesday, my actual birhday for lunchies. still wasn't feeling great, so spent the rest of the day jsut relaxing and sleeping. he gave me a great present, besides the Tori Tickets, it was a life size stuffed stitch. he now spends most of the day playing on my computer, and he fits great in the front seat of the car :) today, he gave me part 3 of the present, a copy of the new stitch movie.
well, other than the typical work bs, not much to report. but then, this place is always crazy. so, with that, I will say
